nbn™ and Reachnet Update on Connections Lead Time:
The COVID-19 situation has led to an increased demand for nbn™ Sky Muster and nbn™ Sky Muster Plus services as more people choose to work and study from home. The increased demand coupled with restrictions placed on installation staff in accessing certain sites, including the need for installers to cross state borders (with some State borders, and other area restrictions still ongoing) as well as ongoing supply chain impacts, has placed pressure on connection appointment lead times.
At this stage, we expect that the timeframe to return to a more normal lead time for connection appointments is in the vicinity of 8-10 weeks. Currently, the lead time for an appointment is, again in average, 19 calendar days or just under three weeks. Keeping in mind that assurance incidents are prioritised over new connections, we’ve implemented several immediate actions with the aim of improving the situation as quickly as possible.
Please note that due to an unprecedented number of orders with Reachnet, processing times are taking longer than usual. We will endeavor to update you on the progress of your order as soon as possible.
If you chose a plan that has a router included, the router will be sent within four business days of your application being submitted to the nbn™. You should expect it to arrive within five business days after dispatch.
